Belgian retailer Extra Shop adopts Vusion’s innovative solutions to digitalise its stores

Vusion, a global leader in AI-powered digitalisation solutions for physical commerce, has been selected by Extra Shop to deploy its solutions in 40 of its locations in Belgium. These solutions will be installed by Vusion’s partner, Proximus NXT. With this new roll-out, more than 1,700 stores from key Belgian retailers will be running Vusion’s technology in the country.

Extra Shop will deploy the Vusion platform and smart Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs) throughout its stores to improve both customer and employee satisfaction. By leveraging Vusion’s solutions, Extra Shop will effectively highlight specific campaigns and product information, while displaying price and promotional details at the right place and time, adapting to customers’ expectations.

Store associates will also benefit from greater productivity and an improved working environment, as they will be guided during the restocking process using geolocation and LEDs embedded in each ESL.

“We are thrilled to partner with Vusion to bring advanced digital solutions to our stores. This collaboration will not only enhance our operational efficiency, but also keep our employees motivated and engaged in improving the shopping experience for our customers. We selected Vusion for both its high-impact digital solutions and its clear leadership in innovation, AI and data at the service of retailers,” said Laurent Vanden Brande, Head of Supply Chain and IT at Extra Shop.

“This new partnership further highlights the pioneering mindset of retailers in Belgium but also the relevance of this country for our strategy in Europe,” said Sébastien Fourcy, SEVP EMEA at Vusion.

Belgian retailers across sectors including grocery, consumer electronics, DIY and petrol stations have already launched Digtal Transformation initiatives using Vusion’s solutions. The Vusion platform also enables devices to be tracked, monitored and updated remotely, with seamless integration into Extra Shop’s Cisco Meraki wireless infrastructure, enabling faster deployment and a reduced IoT footprint.
